The Red Aglaonema is an extremely attractive foliage plant that has the ability to brighten up any corner of your indoor space. It is the best addition to indoor spaces to lend it colour and charm with its bright red leaves. The green leaves are elegantly flushed with red markings.
Red Aglaonema are evergreen perennial herbs with pink stems growing erect or decumbent and creeping. Stems that grow along the ground may root at the nodes. There is generally a crown of wide leaf blades which in wild species are often variegated. They are slow growing and will only need repotting every other year. Aglaonema are generally low-growing plants that will only very gradually reveal their trunks.

LIGHT
Aglaonema prefers bright indirect light but can adapt to low light.
WATER
Water Aglaonema when the top 50% of the soil is dry. Water until liquid flows through the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot and discard any water that has accumulated in the saucer.
HUMIDITY
Aglaonema prefers a humid environment. Mist the leaves regularly using a Mister to raise the humidity.
TEMPERATURE
Aglaonema prefers temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s degrees of F. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
FERTILIZER
Feed once a month during the spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants such as our All Purpose Fertilizer (NPK 20-20-20).
TOXICITY
It is moderately toxic to pets and humans. Typically, ingestion will cause mouth and stomach irritation and possible vomiting.
ADDITIONAL CARE
When leaves dry out and turn brown, it may be caused by tap water, which can contain salts, chlorine, and fluoride. If you do not have a filtration system, leaving the tap water in an open container overnight before watering can help remove some of the chlorine and fluoride.
